| Coil-Over Damper - 8600/8700 Series
The ultimate top of the line damper in today's racing world is our 8700 Series triple adjustable. A favorite in Indy Car, Formula One, Toyota Atlantic, Trans AM and other forms of racing, the 8700 Series damper is by far the most tunable unit in it's class.
The category, triple adjustable, comes from the fact that there are three external adjustments for fine tuning of the damper. Individual adjuster for both high and low speed compression damping are located on the remote reservoir. The rebound adjuster is located in the eyelet at the base of the shaft. The 8600 Series Damper is the same as the 8700 Damper except it does not offer an external low-speed compression adjustment. However, the low-speed compression adjustment could be added at any time. The main valving, located inside the damper, may also be changed in a matter of minutes, by removing the damper from the car.
The 8600/8700 Series damper is a one piece design. As an option, the damper body comes in two diameters to fit 2.00" or 2.25" springs.
The advantage of the triple adjustable damper is the ability to adjust for individual track incosistencies and handling characteristics while not making any compromises. The low speed compression adjuster allows for changes to the aspect of body roll and any handeling problems that appear at low damper velocities, such as corner entry and exit. The high speed compression adjuster lets you tune your dampers for rough track inconsistencies that may disrupt the line of the car. By combining these two compression adjustmens, the advantages of the 8700 Series dampers are second to none.
When deciding upon a damper/compression adjuster, keep in mind that you can update the 8600 Series Damper to a 8700 Series Damper at any time.
